Chaffey Bros

Regular price $32.00

I thought I was going a bit crazy when I tried this wine, it presents normally in a really rich ruby colour but when I gave it a smell I was taken by surprise. I got black cherries and crumble (as in cherry pie or even Clafouti) – heavenly. What a way to start a wine.

But what impressed me is that it is a seamless blend, no indication where one grape stops, and another starts. Right at the end of the first sip I noticed bright acids, but this was really the only time. Across the rest of the bottle it was one big luscious demonstration of rich red fruit flavours (cherries and raspberries). It’s like the three grapes have created on harmonious mouthful. Tannins are imperceptible.

My first thought was I have found a favourite…
