Lanson Père et Fils is an enriched evolution of the classic Lanson Black Label Brut, and is named after the first bottle of Champagne Lanson ever produced.
Lanson has taken reserve wines from ten vintages to create the base, with 50% of the grapes sourced from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards and aged with a minimum of 4 years on lees.
This champagne is richly structured with honey notes, finished with finesse and elegance, layers of complexity complete the experience.
Bright golden in colour animated by soft tiny bubbles. You would not know this wine spent four years on lees, all the autolytic yeasty notes are in the background. Ripe fruit, honey and spices dominate the nose and continues through to the palate with a hint of melons. Dry to the finish this wine invites you to linger and explore.
I discovered this wine about 12 months ago and have been happily drinking it since, this is definitely a grand marque quality wine without the price tag.
