Lightfoot & Sons Wines Myrtle Point Pinot Noir 2016.
This new vintage is a cracker, deep purple in colour very much like plum juice. The nose is redolent with rich notes of black and tinned cherries, with a backdrop of vanilla, black pepper and forest floor. The palate is really plush with big black cherries and vanilla. There is a vague hint of cherry stalks. Acids you have to go looking for and the tannins are so fine. This is a really plush and elegant wine, the flavours are quite developed and the vine age is starting to come through. This is great wine which I will happily recommend to anyone who will listen!
Hand picked, part wholebunch fermented Pinot Noir that sees a touch of new French oak but for the most part sits on gross lees for the full aging period in aged barrique from some of the best French coopers in the business. Get ready to be impressed considering the price.
Bright red cherries, cranberries and sour cherries on the nose with a light red colour. Tinned black cherries followed by red cherries and sour cherries on the finish. Tannins are almost indistinct and the acids provide balance of flavour.
