Wow all this for $26! The grapes come from 70 year old bush vines and as such the flavours are super intense.
A juicy wine it is even evident in the nose. There is quite a lot going on, perfume that has a rose like delicacy, spices, ripe raspberries and rhubarb dance around vying for attention.
The palate is rich and lush but not heavy, this is not a sloppy alcoholic Grenache…this is an elegant symphony of flavours, more raspberry combined with earthy herbal tones and a background of cherries and spice. Tannins are so very fine, providing an element of structure and then disappearing and the acids are balanced and almost integrated.
Why spend more, if you love Grenache then this is a steal.
